Valley of Desolation...

In a little town called Graaff Reinet situated in the Karoo in the Eastern Cape Province. You will not only find a place filled with art, culture or heritage but an astonishingly beautiful mountain range of sheer cliffs called the Valley of Desolation. It is a breathtaking site and a must see destination.


It’s about a 14km drive from town and is situated in the Camdeboo National park (run by SANParks). There is a wide variety of fauna and flora, 220 recorded bird species, 336 plants and 43 mammals. If you are lucky you may even spot the endangered Cape Mountain Zebra.


This destination really caters for all, it has some picnic spots, 3 hiking trails, 4x4 routes and overnight accommodation.


It is really something you should add to your bucket list.
